What type of health screening do you do?
We use an instrument called a
BEST System to quickly effectively and in a non-invasive way determining
your nutritional levels, hormone balance,
energetic health, food sensitivities, environmental sensitivities and toxin levels.
The results from the screenings give us precise information about
your nutritional and overall health balance and allow us to recommend
appropriate remedies.What health conditions
can it help with?
We work in a holistic way and
believe in helping the body to heal itself. With the BEST System we
can gain an overall picture of what is happening in the body,
pinpoint deficiencies and imbalances and give accurate recommendations.
The following conditions have all shown good results following BEST

What happens during
health screening?
When you come for a health screening we will first ask you about
your health issues. For the screening you
will sit in a chair and the practitioner will gently press a small probe
connected to the BEST instrument onto specific points (known as acupuncture points) on
your hands. The test unit recodes the body's response at each point. You only feel the sensation of the probe being applied to your skin.
A printed report of the results is produced at the end of the test. There
is no waiting for results.
How long does it take?
Including the consultation It will take between one and two
hours depending on the screening you have come for. The results are produced immediately the test is
completed and you will be given a copy of the printed report to take away.
Do I need to give blood or get undressed?
Absolutely not. The tests are carried out simply by gently applying a probe to test points on your hands or feet - this is all that is
involved.
What do the results tell me?
For a basic nutrition and food screening the results will indicate your
levels of 37 individual vitamin & minerals and any intolerances you
may have to 104 different foods. The body is dependant on having sufficient
nutrients in order to function correctly and extensive
studies have shown many illnesses are contributed to by lack of vital nutrients. If you eat food that you are intolerant to
again this has
been shown to be a root cause of many illnesses. Additional tests can be
done to reveal hormone imbalances, organ imbalances and toxicity levels.
Will it show my allergies?
The results from the BEST health screening clearly identify any foods
you are sensitive to and you should be avoiding for the time being. These are known as food intolerances and are basically substances the body would
prefer not to have at the moment. By eating these foods the bodies energy is directed to
'neutralising' them rather than digesting them and this can tend to lead to long-term health problems. People are often unaware of their food intolerances as the symptoms are mild (initially at least),
accumulative and happen quite some time after eating. It's our experience that addressing food intolerances
forms a very important part of dealing with a wide range of health issues - anything from Irritable bowel to fatigue, migraine to hyperactivity.
An allergy on the other hand is a fast acting immune system reaction to very specific foods and tends to cause rapid, severe symptoms. These can only be reliably detected
through a prick or RAST test and
not through the BEST system.
How often will I need to be screened?
If you are suffering from an ailment you may be recommended to be
screened every two or three months and every six to twelve months for a general check
up to maintain health.
Do I need to be ill in order to benefit from health screening?
No. By monitoring your health status any weakness can be found and acted upon
before symptoms appear. By ensuring your nutrient levels are balanced and you are avoiding intolerant foods, this gives the body the best chance of maintaining and promoting health, fitness and well-being.
Is there anything I need to do before my screening?
All we ask is that you refrain from applying oils and lotions on your hands and feet on the day of your screening. These can reduce the sensitivity of the instrument.
Also if you drink lots of alcohol, tea or coffee these tend to dehydrate
the body which can also reduce the reading sensitivity, so please drink lots
of water before you come. Otherwise there are no special requirements.
